South Laguna Community Garden Park

Child_waterx400wx250hSince 2009 South Laguna Community Garden Park has been growing healthy foods, offering educational programs and bringing people together with group gardening and community events.  Located at Eagle Rock Way and Coast Highway, it is the only community garden in Laguna Beach.

The garden has been built on privately-owned land with the permission of the owner.  Organized and administered by the South Laguna Civic Association, the Garden Park was created completely by volunteers with the help of community donations. It features family growing plots and landscaped areas with native and drought tolerant plants, picnic tables and benches.  Maintained by the gardeners at no cost to the public, the park is open to all every day to enjoy.  Community members and visitors appreciate the beauty and creativity of the garden, and how it has built a sense of community.

The outdoor learning program at the Garden Park emphasizes environmental stewardship for all generations. The program focuses on hands on learning through work days, workshops and children’s gardens.   Topics have include3kids x 400zwd organic gardening techniques, bees and other pollinators, native plant gardens, proper pruning and preparing meals with garden-grown vegetables.
